How the Left is Harming Citizens by Preferencing Illegals

Gavin Newsom, now shining as the brightest star in the Democrats’ embarrassingly-bad lineup, has recently decided that he isn’t doing enough for those who cross our borders illegally.  Along with free health care, he is now offering them food stamps.  Any payouts going to state residents will also go to illegals, with no penalty and no work requirement.  In many cases, they do better than hard-working but poorer citizens in this state.

The Problem

I remember the hassles of four vaccine injections and the cost and worry of having to test for the CCP virus just to re-enter the country.  But if you’re illegal, no worries.  No one cares what diseases you are carrying and there is no requirement to get vaccinated.  We’re losing our flight crews and our military to vaccine mandates, but they’re citizens.  So, Biden just says, “Screw you.”  Even those with valid religious beliefs are denied an exemption, but in reality, especially given that (a). the virus isn’t all that bad now and (b). the vaccines don’t really do all that much now. If illegals don’t need them, why do the rest of us?  I suspect they didn’t even have to wear masks, but if they did, I’m sure they were provided with the best of the best.

Poor people are scrambling to try to buy food, pay rent and get gas for their car so they can get to work.  Costs keep rising because Biden has shut down our copious fossil fuel industry.  He can try to blame Putin, but we know the truth.  His party is hurting citizens, but the welcome mat is out for those who don’t pay taxes, mostly don’t work and come here with their hands out expecting largesse.  And they get it.

What happens when they breach our border?  We have set up hotel rooms and other accommodations, food and water, health care as needed AND flights to where they want to go.  All of this is at taxpayer expense, and yet, we are told this isn’t what attracts them.  Isn’t it?  Why get jobs, learn English and work hard to earn these things if the taxpayers will provide them?  Have a few babies (magically turned into citizens) and you can enjoy a better life than many citizens thanks for enforced generosity of taxpayers.   The Left promises citizenship and voting rights, all for people we have not chosen as residents of our country.

What We Should Do

We should welcome a few non-economic refugees as most countries do.  However, the requirement should be to become fully employable as soon as possible.  Make use of charitable organizations both to help them initially and get them going towards work.

Come over illegally and get nothing!  You’re dying of thirst—who cares?  Charities can go to the border and help, but those of paying taxes should have a choice not to support this behavior.  The “welcome” is far too generous now and the proof is in the number arriving daily.

Once we eliminate the attractive nuisance of “free everything,” fewer will come.  At this point, we could initiate a guest worker program with strict rules.  We also need to eliminate the birthright exemption, as it should only benefit those legally and permanently here, not those who are temporary workers or those who cross without our permission.  We should also enact laws that state that if you have every come here illegally, you will NEVER be a citizen, nor will you benefit from tax money.

When my father’s family escaped Germany, the host family (and yes, they had to have a host), agreed they would not be a public charge for the first five years of their stay.  They worked hard, even as my grandparents’ German jobs weren’t really available here.  They never needed help and the entire family learned English very quickly.  That’s how it was in the past and how it should be in the future.  Material wasn’t available in their language and shouldn’t be.  Never forget your language but you have to speak English to function here.

Vote for those who understand the significant cost to our citizens.  Otherwise, we will be taken over by those who come here not to become Americans, but just to take and take and take.
