Does it bother anyone that climate change leaders constantly take private jets to global events? In fact, it’s not clear that they do anything to reduce their carbon impact, like, perhaps, connecting on Zoom? I remember hearing that Al Gore uses 20x the power of any normal household while insisting we turn down the heat in the winter and keep our AC off. Barack Obama famously preferred to work in shirtsleeves so he had the heat up in the White House in the winter to make that possible.
Look at the limos they ride in, the huge houses they occupy (and many have a variety of houses around the world). If they drive an electric car, it’s one of the pricier ones (and we probably paid for it, as well as the high-speed hookup). In fact, those of us who are “blamed” for our behavior probably pay for most of the costs of these elites who want to tell us how to live their lives. What hypocrites!
Is Climate Change Real?
As a child, the rhetoric was all about the next Ice Age, until it changed to focus on “Global Warming.” Now, it’s Climate Change, which is supposed to ensure that those calling it out will be right, no matter what. The fact is that climate is always changing. When I went to college, we would have 4-6 months of rain in the winter in “dry” California. Despite what you’ve heard, there are many scientists explaining the changes, based on hard science. When they study it carefully, any changes we might make have a VERY small impact. Mother Nature, apparently, is far more powerful than we are. They explain why the predictive models are flawed and why the “solutions” proposed make no earthly sense.
My father was famous for the phrase, “You’re going to have to….” It is almost as useful as telling someone to calm down. It just enrages us, particularly as some of us with a science background know the truth. And we’re also watching the elites do whatever they want while telling us that the world is going to be a far more dismal place for the rest of us. But they’re the ones screwing it up.
Bad Idea
Idiots from Al Gore to John Kerry to Klaus Schwab have begun on a journey to destroy our way of life and perhaps even cause a massive drop in our population. They are destroying the careers of farmers with legislation that makes it impossible to farm (see the Netherlands). They want to reduce meat consumption with the tag line, “Let them eat bugs.” A big dream is to get us all out of owning cars and being limited to short-term rentals of shared electric cars. I’ve written previously about the huge, negative climate impact of electric cars.
We’re also supposed to live in stack-and-pack housing in crime-ridden urban areas, while the elite enjoy their spacious homes and security guards. They get to keep their planes and cars (mostly gas-powered), while we’ll share whatever they let us have.
Who Died and Made Them God?
Time to rise up and challenge this idiocy. Every law or regulation passed must impact the people who championed it first. After two years, if it still looks to be a good idea, then the rest of us can join in. You want us to have a smaller carbon footprint? Start by shrinking yours. You give up meat and fish and eat bugs. Give up your cars and start using public transit. Maybe you’ll see why privatizing transit would make it better.
We can solve a lot of the problems the elites claim to champion by imposing the cost back on them. Homeless a problem? Go out to the huge properties the elites maintain and build homeless shelters on all the spare land. Instead of global gadding about, all these meetings should be online. If you think college should be free, start paying for it yourself. You’ve got the money. Don’t charge those of us who paid dearly for our own education or those who had to forgo college as they couldn’t afford it.
Tax money to cover $500/night hotels for illegals? Make it clear that if you cross our border, you get nothing. Apply for residency or don’t come. We shouldn’t provide as much as a bottle of water at our border.
Am I Ranting?
Okay, I know I’m ranting. But I feel, “'I'm As Mad as Hell, And I'm Not Going to Take This Anymore!” (1976: 'Network' Newsman Rants). Are you with me?
