We all remember the sad story of Anne Frank and her family. I’ve always thought of the Dutch as heroes, not only for the many they sheltered, but also for how they sheltered my grandparents and their two sons (one, my father) until they gained passage on a boat to America. That wonderful story ended when the boat docked and the captain gave the Jews their fare money back. That was then; this is now.
November 7, 2024
After a storied game, where Dutch Ajax beat Maccabi Tel Aviv in in UEFA league play, Amsterdam was host to Europe’s first pogrom since 1945. Planned well in advance, with help from social media such as WhatsApp and Snapchat, Muslims in the city tracked Israeli flight and hotel information and planned a “Jew hunt.” Dutch authorities had heard about the planning, but did nothing. Jews were beaten and thrown into canals, with young Muslims screaming obscenities and wreaking havoc.
No arrests were made at the time, though authorities claim they are searching through social media to identify possible suspects, only after public pressure The mayor of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema, refused to identify the suspects as Muslim. Instead, she described them as “scooter-youths,” referring to ethnic Dutch who ride crazily all over town. Jews in the area referred to the horror as Kristal-Nacht-2.” The attack was just another in a series of crimes against Jews since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack. Feeling empowered, Muslim immigrants are more publicly showing their hatred of Jews.
And they know they are supported. The International Court of “Justice” in the Hague is seeking warrants against Netanyahu for “crimes against humanity.” Note: even as Hamas run Gaza, none of them have been called to account by this court. Shockingly, the prosecutor, Karim Khan, said in reaction to Israel’s response to the Hamas terrorist, “We have failed to live up to the promise of Never Again that was made in Nuremberg.” Khan is a suspect for sexual misconduct, and likely a Muslim.
Not a New Story Here
As a massive stream of Muslims have streamed into the Netherlands from North Africa and the Middle East, they have completely failed to assimilate. Theo Van Gogh and others have been killed. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, at one time, a member of Parliament, was forced to go into hiding, finally fleeing to the US for safety. Even back in 2010, one politician stated, “I see no future for recognizable Jews” in the country.
Amsterdam has put up protective barriers around temples in the city, but the question is why not go after the perpetrators?
I love Amsterdam and in fact, all of the Netherlands. And though I don’t look Jewish (only ½), I am beginning to feel it would not be safe to return. Until countries infested with Muslim terrorists stand up to the problem and protect Jewish citizens, I will be a far more careful traveler. We all should. And that’s a tragedy.
What Now?
Not all Arabs are the problem, of course. A Druze from Northern Israel, Melhem Asad, risked his life trying to confuse the attackers to draw attention away from Jews that night. But the toleration of the invading armies of Muslims who seek to enshrine the Caliphate instead of becoming good citizens embracing the values of their home is the core problem. If you can’t behave civilly, under the law, these immigrants should be expelled. No country should tolerate them.
While it appears just to be a “Jewish problem,” Muslims only really value fellow Muslims. Once they take care of this “core problem,” they will come after the rest of us. You convert, pay jizya (tax) or die. This is in the Koran; and all good Muslims believe it. We all have a stake in keeping jihad down and applying our laws to all who seek to destroy Jews. If we do not while we can, we may find that all of us are doomed.
And it gets worse. Just read a story about a German who made disparaging remarks about Islam, was stabbed for his comments, and then he was charged with a hate crime. So much for justice.
