A Book Review

In the recent past, a number of books by Black authors have been published, trying to get the government out of their business.  A notable one was Please Stop Helping Us by Jason L. Riley.  This latest book, written by Kevin McGary, is focused on the problems with DEI, where it came from and how it is hurting minorities.  It continues the theme of how the Left continues to try to make minorities dependent on the government, and foster racial unrest among people.

As he notes, DEI is based on the idea that Black people are inherently incapable of the same achievements as other races.  Can anything be more racist and frankly, untrue?  Just like all races, some people are smarter than others, more talented, harder-working, etc.  And some are not.  DEI damns an entire race, which is the premise of the book.

The Origins

McGary blames Charles Darwin’s work for generating the idea that Blacks are incapable, noting that the subtitle of the Origin of the Species—The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life”—clearly calls out the racist underpinnings.  He found no earlier claim of racial inferiority.  I was shocked – who knew?  Darwin depicted Blacks as subhuman, similar to apes or savages, an idea most of us didn’t know about him.  Sadly, this view was popular even in Reconstruction.  The civil rights movement and Martin Luther King did a lot to accelerate progress for Blacks, but instead of doubling down to empower people, the Left figured out that they didn’t want independent thinkers.  They need people to think they have to rely on the government for everything.

The Left now channels Karl Marx in thinking that their goal is to destroy our society and way of life to transform us into a communist society.  One aspect of that is to get rid of meritocracy, the idea that people who have worked hard and are good at their jobs deserve promotions.  Instead, they shoved minorities into positions they weren’t trained to handle, sadly ignoring those who could.  This is DEI, which Jordan Petersen correctly calls DIE.

The Left also sought to anger Blacks so that they will start riots.  Remember BLM?  It’s all about manipulation to cause destruction to our state and our values.  McGary doubts that the Left has any good intentions regarding their treatment of minorities; they don’t care about their pawns or “useful idiots,” to use a Marxian term.

Abortion as Control

I favor access to abortion but with time limits.  But I didn’t realize that Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, actually was a eugenicist, striving to do away with the Black population.  As such, 80% of Planned Parenthood sites are close to Black and Brown neighborhoods.  Abortion is encouraged.  I was a pregnancy counselor there back in the day, but the only times I suggested abortion (which was actually what they wanted) was in pre-teens and teens, kids who weren’t really positioned to raise a child.

Public School Tyranny

The Left hates school choice, not just because they get a lot of money from teachers’ unions.  They also want kids stuck in public schools where they can control what they learn and encourage things like transexual change, where the child becomes permanently sterile.  They claim they want equal outcomes, but the only outcome they want involves taking money from those who work hard and giving it out as voting bribes to those who have been trained to expect it. The worst of the public schools are always in minority neighborhoods.

With the typically poor education in inner city schools, even kids who are “helped” to get into premiere colleges usually don’t finish.  What’s good about that?
