The Mainstream Media

While we have learned not to expect objectivity from the Mainstream Media (MSM), their coverage of Joe Biden’s decline was disgraceful. In a world where we have many sources of information, including revealing videos, the MSM had to know we didn’t believe their stories. Their only job is to report the truth, not apply their preferences and opinions to their stories. There’s OpEd pages for that. It doesn’t belong in the news.

“Binder” Isn’t at Fault

I’m sure some blame Karine Jean-Pierre, as her briefings painted a rosy picture of a man who checked out of his job most days around 10AM, after sleeping in. But she did her job. She’s supposed to cover for him, and, if necessary, make him seem more capable and aware than he is. Reporters knew better and should have challenged her, as Peter Doocy did, the only reporter willing to call her out.

A typical story she told was like this. Jean-Pierre called reports of Biden capping events as early as 10 a.m. because he was fatigued “ridiculous assumptions” in an August 2023 press conference. The following month, when asked whether Biden’s staff “treats him like a baby,” the press secretary pushed back. “No one treats the president of the United States, the commander-in-chief, like a baby. That’s ridiculous. It’s a ridiculous claim,” she responded. She also dismissed videos of Biden appearing disoriented or frail as “cheap fakes” and insisted that they were based on “misinformation” in a June 2024 interview with MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace.

She has been on record denying that the former president was experiencing cognitive decline or other health issues from as early as 2022. An example:

“He’s the president of the United States … just look at the work he does. And look how he’s delivering for the American public,” she said.”

As most of the public became alarmed at what they could see, which was likely only a sliver of the reality, the capper should have been the Robert Hur report. Hur reasoned that “at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” In Hur’s view, “it would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him—by then a former president well into his eighties—of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

KJP’s response? “That part of the report does not live in reality. It just doesn’t. It is gratuitous. It is unacceptable, Pierre said.

Even as Biden got a golden ticket to escape prosecution, the press continued to deny his failures. Now, they wonder why people have lost trust in them. Keep in mind that if this was a Republican president, we would have heard and seen every last misstep. It was completely political, and thus, a scandalous dereliction of duty on the MSM’s part.

Why?

Aside from their clear political bias, the other factor has to be…what happens if the President is unfit to serve? The VP would step in, as our Constitution states. But wait? Why not have Kamala Harris step up? The Democrat Party and the media had no interest in letting her have the chance; they worried that she would only make the progressive case look even worse. In fact, prior to the debate disaster, they often did run Harris footage that showed her in a less than favorable light, perhaps to indicate her unsuitability for the top job.

The Story Now

In the new book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, It’s Cover-Up and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, sourced anonymously, the reporters attempt to sweep the true story under the table by speaking about how Biden’s top aids kept the decline hidden from voters. Except, it wasn’t all that hidden. Yes, it was probably worse than we saw, but even without a gerontologist degree, most of us could see his brain was failing.

They speak of him as “a lion in winter — shockingly frail and forgetful with a ferocious pride that blinds him to the fact that it’s time to exit the stage.” He was assisted in that delusion, the authors claim, by the mythology his family erected around him — that he was indestructible — and by his zealously protective inner circle, dubbed “the Politburo.”

This all might be true if we hadn’t seen it for ourselves. Biden insisting on a past that was largely fiction, demanding a wheelchair-bound vet stand up, wandering off aimlessly, and more and more, having an expression on his face of having no clue what was happening, or even, who he was. It makes you wonder—who was running the country? It wasn’t him

So, if this is all true, and the MSM is finally willing to admit that he wasn’t able to serve as President, who wielded the auto-pen and signed the thousands of pardons? Who gave away our precious Medal of Freedom to such reprobates as George Soros? If it wasn’t our elected President, then all of those awards should be invalidated. Pardons should cease to exist. Only Joe Biden had the right and the power to issue any of those pardons and awards.

How about the media do some digging on that juicy story and let the chips fall where they may? But they won’t. They won’t change until their jobs are eliminated and they no longer have the right to control the story.
