Growing up in Chicago, I heard many comments about how elections worked, particularly in regard to the ’60 Kennedy/Nixon election. More recent elections continue to demonstrate the appalling disregard for laws, regulations and standards, regarding fairness. At one point, most states would investigate suspicious activities and, in many cases, prosecute the offenders. Not enough did this nor were they willing to purge voter lists as they were required to do. Even this year, reports of hundreds of thousands of names that should be stricken in New York were sent ballots. I personally have seen people who speak no English and who have said they aren’t here legally getting registered to vote at our DMV. Voting is a responsibility of every citizen, but it is a right reserved to citizens. (Not in California, apparently).
The Democrat “Cheat” Machine
Yes, Republicans have cheated in elections and in most cases, prosecuted for it. But in recent years, cheating has become a matter of course, especially after the chosen one, Hillary Clinton, failed to win against Trump. Amply supplied with funding from the likes of Soros and Zuckerberg, a variety of options are open to those wanting to cheat. The abuse of mail-in ballots, well-documented with extensive amounts of data, was highlighted in Dinesh D'Souza’s “2000 Mules.” But it’s not the only way.
My husband had both his original mail-in ballot and the replacement stolen from his mailbox. We have no doubt that those ballots were voted; otherwise, why steal them? If you have one of those country, pull-open mailboxes, it might be a good idea to invest in a locking one. No one can forget the hundreds of thousands of ballots that were “discovered” after the 2020 election, never to be counted.
Some people are susceptible to having their vote bought; others really appreciate that “helpful” volunteer who will go through it with you. Without rigorous vetting, it’s not that hard to toss ballots that don’t reflect your goals. I wondered about this in our latest election. An unpopular sales tax was pushed in Walnut Creek (Measure O). The aspirations were lofty, but there was no guarantee the money wouldn’t be used to increase salaries or invest in pet projects. Still, it passed resoundingly, but in a city with over 70,000 population, does it make sense that only 20,000 voted? Those are the published numbers.
Pennsylvania has always been a troubled state. They elected someone who had died since the ballots were printed. And don’t you wonder how Fetterman won so easily? It felt like the Biden election. Candidate hides out till the last minute, does a poor job of talking and still wins. I would agree that Dr. Oz might not have been the perfect choice, but he was visible and open. You knew what he was offering Pennsylvania and it sure sounded like what they would want. Dementia Joe should be thrilled. It seems obvious that no matter his health, he will run…and win…in 2024. Most Democrats won’t object. He’s so easy to guide and control.
Another way they cheat in California is by having extremely poorly worded ballot initiatives and candidates who outright lie. (Not Newsom, this time. He failed to include a picture or statement, so sure he was that the election would be rigged in his favor.) If you read the actual proposal, you can see the problem. But people read just the blurb, if that. Proposition 1, which legalized abortion all the way till birth, passed by a wide margin. Did most people realize that this means a doctor has to kill a baby in a late-term abortion? And do they understand that, based on similar precedents in other areas, a doctor might be forced to do the procedure if someone wants it? I think not. The Dems have also stated a willingness to fund abortions for out-of-staters who travel here and can’t afford the procedure. Taxpayers – are you okay with this? The biggest surprise (and perhaps my biggest disappointment) was the failure of Lanhee Chen to win for Controller. His arguments (and his background) clearly showed that he would monitor state spending closely and seek out waste. His opponent had a checkered past of money mismanagement. Yet, she won. Why?
Common Sense
Surveys continue to reinforce that voters are most concerned about inflation and crime, not abortion and global climate change. As such, it is hard to believe the voting pattern. Continuing to elect those who have backed the failed Biden initiatives are either Karl Marx’s “useful idiots”, or they don’t bother to research the candidates. Probably the most important thing you have to do each election is read up a bit on the candidate, not just watch a biased news show. But even if you accept how many people vote mindlessly, it’s hard to understand how AOC keeps winning, given how unpopular she has become. This isn’t reality TV, people! Don’t just pick the pretty ones.
Talk to people. I get asked by a bunch of people each election to explain the initiatives and talk about candidates. Get into conversation. Even with those on the Left, ask them questions. What makes them excited about a candidate. Don’t challenge them, but keep asking for information. Amazingly, few people seem to have any reason for their vote; but if they realize this, they might act differently.
And continue to push conservative think-tanks and other organizations to fight the fraud. We need to fight this. Right now, our country is on a dangerous, one-way path to failure. What can you do to make a difference?
Vote Anyway
Despite all this, I encourage everyone to vote and vote in person, so you can see the process. I was pretty impressed with the efficiency that I saw, but of course, I wasn’t there in the after-hours, when there’s an opportunity to skew things. In one polling place, you put your ballot in a cardboard box, to be counted later. But we have to keep voting, while working to ensure fair elections. When we give up, we are simply going along with the agenda the Democrat Party wants. And no, they aren’t the “Democratic Party,” as much as they wish to believe they are.
Blind loyalty, and as you noted, not versed on the candidates nor the propositions leads voters to just rubber stamp names they recognize. Tangentially here in Arizona on the day of the election suddenly the voting machines had trouble. Months to prepare and lo and behold mechanical issues on the day of the election. How can one not question the validity of the results?
