“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” FDR
“Fear is the mind-killer.” Frank Herbert, Dune
For the past few years, many people have been living in fear, and some are still stuck. Government spokespeople, like Anthony Fauci and Rochelle Walensky, terrified people, warning that if they did not take the every-changing precautions recommended, they would die. Many put off critical medical care, such as chemotherapy appointments and dialysis, afraid to venture out. Troubling symptoms weren’t enough to get people to hit the ER, even when they felt fear. The fear of Covid, which was, for most, a bad cold, caused many people to die.
The death toll was exacerbated when people felt such despair, they took their own lives. Those challenged with mental health issues may have taken their lives when reality was simply too much for them. Others couldn’t deal with the destitution incurred by losing their jobs or their businesses. Teens, isolated from friends and teachers, lost hope. Fear alone caused a number to consider suicide as an option.
The numbers of serious illness and death caused great concern and fear among many. The fact (less in dispute now) that this virus was lab-created generated even more fear. We’re all familiar with the apocalyptic, death-dealing virus scares of film and books.
The Government and NGOs Did It
Power corrupts. Those who seek it have only two options: take power from someone else or scare the populace into ceding it to them. The latter option always seems a bit easier, as there are always enough people anxious enough to be manipulated. Both the people running governments and those running non-governmental agencies, like the UN, generally choose this method. The risk is pretty low.
Both learned how far they could go when they pushed the fiction that everyone was at risk of dying from Covid. Unlike Stephen King’s Captain Trips, this was never true. If you had co-morbidities (other serious conditions), a poor immune system or were deficient in certain vitamins, like D-3, you had more risk. But just as in a bad flu season, each person had the option to self-isolate. In 2020, this option was easy because nearly every vendor delivered. You could stay home and have groceries, medicines, even cocktails delivered to your door.
But for most of us, isolation made no sense at all. China discovered this the hard way. Their Zero Covid regimen resulted in deaths due to starvation and in at least one case, fire, when occupants couldn’t unseal their doors. After the edict was lifted, many got sick. It turns out that if you don’t challenge your immune system with exposure to the many bugs always out there, it doesn’t work as effectively. The same problem exists when mothers go nuts keeping their children sterilized and isolated. Immune systems thrive on challenges.
Unfortunately, fear is contagious and can become a serious issue when you can find no help to combat the misinformation. Or is it disinformation? When what you say causes you to gain power over people, I think you are lying to them, i.e., disinformation. The brave doctors offering actual treatments (ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine and fluvoxamine) instead of a vaccine had an answer, but how many were able to hear it? Most of us want to know there’s a treatment if they get sick; vaccines take time to work and mostly don’t have a great track record in protecting us.
Now governments and NGOs realize they can come with all kinds of scare tactics to force you into compliance with nearly everything they might wish to implement. Watch for more “nutritional” guidance, limiting what you can consume by using the governmental digital currency to block you from your funds if you don’t behave.
What Works?
First, refuse to be scared. Fear doesn’t really help you; it hijacks your brain and keeps you from concrete action. The term “fear porn” began to get out there in 2021; it’s too easy to become addicted. Ignore the edicts. Despite the attempts in California to keep us in our houses, people just ignored it. Sure, if a business made me wear a mask, I did, but I ripped it off as soon as I left. And no, I didn’t get a new one every time. Why should I? They don’t work. We traveled as soon as we were able to and patronized the businesses allowed to be open (and would have gone to those trying to go underground if we had known what they were).
Compliance is what gives them power. Refuse to comply. After all, as we saw, those in charge don’t bother to follow the rules. We’re independent, free people with the widest rights in the world. Honor that covenant with our founders by exercising those rights, to the fullest extent possible.
It’s up to you. And me. This won’t be the last time the government tries to pull a fast one on us so we need to stand in unison and defy them. They have too much power already.
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Nelson Mandela
Yes, they are. Power corrupts. It's so easy to take charge when no one is fighting them.
The government seems to be operating as benevolent dictators rather than representing their constituents and the MSM reinforces the notion. We are in desperate times.
