I’ve written before about the dangerous precedent of the UN General Assembly to try to take power from individual countries and give it to an unelected, global government. In September, 2022, the UN passed 75/1 which includes many potentially good aims, but as usual, the devil is in the details.
Coming up in September 2024, the UN will host “The Summit of the Future,” which is designed to invite/compel member states to adopt policies that will enshrine many of their treasured globalist reforms, including UN 2030 and the Paris climate accord. The goal is global governance, taking away the rights of states, particularly the United States, to govern as we wish.
“Global Shocks?”
They specifically want to create an emergency platform to manage complex global shocks (like Covid???). It’s vaguely defined in all the documents, so you can’t know for sure what they mean, but it describes “an event with disruptive consequences for a significant portion of the global population leading to secondary impacts across multiple sectors.” Sounds like a pandemic, but could be even a lesser event. Simply the fear of global Ebola outbreaks led to some degree of panic, even as the actual infections were very limited. Such shocks might be (in their words), future pandemic risks, global digital connectivity disruption (EMPs or just the Internet is down?), and climate change. This last is particularly frightening, as no one can define what that even means.
More frightening, they define the global response to Covid as insufficient. They felt all countries didn’t have sufficient access to vaccines. As noted before, the impact on Africa was more limited as most people regularly take hydroxychloroquine to stave off far more serious concerns at a reasonable cost.
There appears to be no limit to the authority the UN secretary-general would have. Though it implies a limit to the duration of the authority, it can be “extended if the secretary-general wishes to extend it. “ There is nothing in the document limiting his powers nor is there an actual limit to how long the emergency platform would be in effect.
Tyranny and Global Governance
As most Americans haven’t decamped to a “better country,” one has to assume that most of us prefer our not-perfect-enough governance to any other on offer. This means that most of us would not be happy to have in place a government that more resembles socialist offerings in Europe. Or the tyranny of China.
Let’s look at the current secretary-general, a man most of us know little about. Antonio Guterres, who has held the position since 2017, is an active member of the Portuguese Socialist Party. His primary goals appear to be protecting the planet from whatever climate change is as well as global wealth distribution. Neither of these goals really align with what made America great. Keep in mind that these broad, poorly stated powers could wipe away every human right, giving the power to global elites, who will exempt themselves from any inconvenience.
Carl Schmitt, a German legal philosopher, put the following in his book “Political Theology” as long ago as 1922. “In a state of emergency, the constituted authority suspends the law on the basis of the right to protect its own existence.” Read that again, slowly. The purpose is not to protect us from an existential threat. It is to protect their power.
Freedom isn’t Free
While most people ignore the UN, their continued power grab has to be a more major concern than even the threat of China or Russia. We could win wars against them, but how do you fight the UN?
Simple. Get the United States out of the UN completely. I have previously suggested that we need to get out of parts of it and eject it from NY, but now, it is clear that the corruption runs too deep. There is no part of it we should be supporting. It has no mission but global domination. We cannot trust these unelected bureaucrats who fashion themselves the “smart people in the room,” to run our lives.
Vote for whoever understand this and begins to unwind our support and reliance on the UN. If we do it, it’s likely to collapse as it is so dependent on our money. And honestly, many other countries may bail if we only have the fortitude to get out now.
