Vaccines
Around the world, governments and companies are mandating vaccines, even for those who have already had the CCP virus. To be honest, I rushed to get it, hoping mostly to avoid being locked down. But I get it. I haven’t had mumps, chicken pox, etc., vaccines because I had those diseases as a child. There isn’t any evidence I have found that people who’ve already had Covid have died if they got it again. That’s the data that matters.
But I find it odd that there is an insistence on this coming from the Left. After all, their stance on abortion is “my body, my choice.” I agree with that, even as I realize that there is a very significant impact on another party—the aborted child. Why is “my body, my choice” not a factor for being forced to take a vaccine? If we believe that vaccines work, who are you hurting by skipping the shot, besides yourself? For some, the vaccine is dangerous. I only recently started opting for a flu shot. For years, the vaccine was incubated in eggs so it would have killed me (I’m allergic). We don’t know yet if certain conditions make the shot more dangerous, which means, we have to leave this choice up to the individual.
I’ve recently read a proposal to somehow mark people who refuse. I remember my grandmother and Dad telling me about having to wear a large Star of David on their arms to mark them as Jews in Germany. Are we really going to go there?
Masks
First it was “masks don’t work,” then “you must wear a mask,” then “maybe one mask isn’t enough.” For a too brief time, those vaccinated were permitted to go maskless, then, we were considered a big risk. It’s not about public safety; it’s about how far the government can go with mandates without public protest.
The Green New Deal and Biden’s Budget Buster
If you look into the plans our government has for us, it involves changing every aspect of our lives simply because they believe this makes sense. The jury is still out on the main cause of climate change (really – check it out). But we’re supposed to give up gas engines while depending on increasingly unreliable sources of electricity. I remember other bad choices of the government: air bags which killed people who weren’t a standard size, twisty bulbs that were a poor light source and low-water toilets that required multiple flushes to get the job done.
And yet, all good inventions—things we rely on—come from private industry, a target of the current dictatorial government. We got fast mask production, new drugs to treat the CCP virus and of course, the vaccines. While the government can help with funding (and importantly, reducing liability), they can’t invent anything. In fact, government does a poor job of running any kind of business.
If you like your smart phone, enjoy the many affordable luxuries that private industry produces, you have to consider carefully how you vote. Do you want free, government-produced stuff (think Soviet here) or do you want the gift of choice from increasingly desirable options? The Dems won’t give you the latter. Their goal is to take away all control from private industry and basically tell them how to run. And that’s the definition of fascism.
Spot on…
