I’ve maintained for a while that rigorous studies by actual scientists have demonstrated that the alarmism in the climate change movement is ridiculous. It is costing all first-world countries a lot of money, as well as restricting our freedom on what we want to purchase. We like natural gas, gas-powered cars and…choice. So do Europeans. That’s why they are increasingly looking to nuclear power again, to meet their needs. We should too.
However, though impactful, the poor guidance on what America should do to avert “climate disaster” isn’t killing us. It hurts poor people more, but it isn’t as dire as it is elsewhere.
Climate Agenda and Africa (from Epoch Times)
I doubt anyone doubts that poverty is a huge problem in Africa. We’ve seen pictures of starving children, and, below, is a picture of starving camels, camels people need to get themselves and goods from place to place. It’s a tough place to live, even without government interference.
Just like other countries, especially India, the African people seek to improve their lot. For too many, they are forced to work crops by hand, when a simple harvester would increase their crops by a huge factor. They are forced to use cow dung to fertilize their crops. Why are they held back from achieving prosperity as other countries have?
The answer is simple; Western nations have imposed climate policies on these countries, which has made modernization and wealth impossible. In too many cases, poverty has led to death, no matter how hard the people work. In Kenya, for example, they have been unable to get subsidies for fertilizer, fuel and electricity. The IMF has forced them to do this (the IMF is part of the UN). One farmer referred to this as “climate colonialism.”
Obama, supposedly a supporter of African freedom, famously said, “If everybody’s raising living standards to the point where everybody’s got a car, and everybody’s got air conditioning, everybody’s got a house, well, the planet will boil over, unless we find more ways of producing energy.” I don’t recall the Obamas cutting back on these basic comforts.
The IMF, the World Bank and other agencies responsible for developing nation prosperity, refuse to make loans or fund anything that would help Africans have better access to coal, natural gas or oil-based electric-generating stations. India was able to achieve great improvements in their economy by exploiting fossil fuels.
While people are starving, climate change doesn’t seem like the most important problem. The UN Environment Program’s platform insists that Africa is to achieve modernization but only under very strict environmental guidelines. Wind and solar aren’t enough to power the farmers and meet their needs. Imagine getting all your water from wells, many of which are long distances from your home. Irrigation is essential, but you need pipes, which require fossil fuels to manufacture. Without good fertilizer, the people can’t grow as much on their land.
As seen in the Netherlands, the war against progress increasingly targets farmers. There is some idiotic idea that the land should remain unused, instead of being able to feed people. 80% of the people in Kenya are farmers. Looking at the progress India made, it is clear that a lot of it depended on the use of fossil fuels, especially to support all the farming. Almost everyone (1.3 BB of them) has electricity. They have good fertilizer, created in gas or coal-powered plants. Electricity is essential to growth. But now, global government agencies believe Africa can be okay without access. Seems a bit racist to me.
Let Africa Have its Industrial Revolution
Even if the global agencies relented on these extreme measures, the average African would use a fraction of the so-called polluting resources. Remember when someone analyzed Al Gore’s usage. He was using 20x the amount of energy as the average person. He didn’t have solar panels at the time. Obama is no different. And even Bernie Sanders has multiple houses, which are all powered by the big, bad power sources. If they have EVs, you can bet the electricity to power them comes from sources they claim to hate.
Perhaps the goal is actually the one wealthy people like Bill Gates support: rapidly depopulating the Earth, starting with Africa. Is that something you support, my faithful readers? I doubt it. And, if they succeed in stifling the growth in an entire continent, imagine what’s next for us.
The power of the UN, the IMF and other global agencies needs to be curbed. My believe is…if you believe this is how things should be for other people, then start at home. Obama, Gates, Gore, and so many others should build tent cities or dirt huts for themselves, disconnect from power and lead the way. Stop forcing everyone else to “clean up” the world by starving themselves.

Climate changes. It IS what it IS, but our blame is limited. And here's the thing - we probably can do a lot to make it better, because we are so innovative. But that doesn't mean downgrading our standard of living. Look at how they created a bacteria that eats oil. That solved oil dump problems.
Well said. The elitist minority benevolently defining life for everyone else. I have yet to see an open discussion or debate about whether or not climate change is real. Further, even if it is, which I doubt, is it man made? Then, are we really arrogant enough to believe we can reverse it? And the timeframe is projected to be out what…perhaps a century for a tiny reduction in Celsius? Those who were willing to push back on this topic have been shamed and even threatened to question the veracity of this theory. I’m afraid true research and analysis has passed us by.
