How Trump’s Rights (and Ours) Are Under Attack

Ever been sued?  Most of us have no desire to have to deal with attorneys, or to be dragged into court.  But imagine if someone who didn’t like you started going after you, using the legal process.  Consider spending all your time and money trying to protect yourself and your rights.  Sadly, too many people have been caught up in drug and gun enforcement actions like this; too many, unjustifiable prosecutions.

Now, consider the situation our former President, Donald J. Trump, has found himself in. Starting on November 9, 2022, before Trump had launched his campaign, Biden said, “We have to demonstrate that he (Trump) will not take power…by making sure he, under the legitimate efforts of the Constitution, does not become President again.”  Not to beat him at the ballot box, but to slander, impoverish and ultimately put Donald Trump in prison.  Those are fighting words and not words an elected official should ever voice.

The Impact of These Actions

Trump has been the most affected, but of course, our rights to vote as we see fit are also under attack.  Still, Biden’s actions (and really, his entire term in office) have been seen by our international friends and enemies as a deep slide into moral bankruptcy, reminiscent more of a third-world country.  The ensuring chaos empowers Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.  It isn’t surprising that China believes they can replace us as the leader internationally because of these non-forced errors on the Left.

Mike Berry, Director of the Center for Litigation, America First Policy Institute, said, “The Left has weaponized the government and the very institutions that are meant to protect us in order to win…because it knows it cannot defeat conservative values in a fair fight.”

The Cases

1.   Documents case – now under the important question as to whether the appointment of Jack Smith to investigate Trump is even valid, is a ridiculous abuse of power.  While Biden is being let off the hook for the many classified documents he had improperly taken and stored, documents he had no declassification authority over, Trump is being harassed for documents he could legally declassify.  And, he was never given the opportunity to manage this himself; the FBI barged in.

2.   Election Interference - Biden’s White House Council spent many hours talking with GA prosecutor, Nathan Wade, who advanced Fani Willis’ RICO charges against Trump.  This meeting was only brought to light after we learned about the scandal of the Willis-Wade relationship and abuse of government funds therein.

3.   The Alvin Bragg case – Bragg really had no case until he was able to hire Michael Colangelo, a man who stepped down from Acting Association Attorney General to be an assistant prosecutor for Bragg.  Colangelo stepping down was akin to a President leaving office to become a city council member of a small town.  Colangelo previously worked for the DNC and donated heavily to Obama.  Suddenly, with Colangelo’s help, the case began to advance.

4.   Letitia James and Trump’s Estate – James claims Trump illegally inflated his property values to get a loan, a popular practice in realty that almost every big realtor has used to get a loan.  It’s not a crime unless you don’t pay it off.  In addition, when trying to prove the case, she held a ridiculous value for his property in Palm Beach County, something anyone could look up when examining comparables.  Smaller houses in the area go for much higher than her claim. And who’s the victim?  This was the case where should-be-disbarred) Justice Engoron ordered Trump to pay $450MM.  To who?  What victim?

We also have swing state prosecutors going after regular citizens for decrying the election practices in their states, despite ample evidence that there were serious problems in each one.

Follow the Money

This illegitimate campaign against Trump wasn’t cheap on the government side, but was amply funded by the DNC and top liberal donors who all agreed that they had to cheat to win.  Close to $2MM was given to the law firm who represented E. Jean Carroll in her sexual assault and defamation case against Trump.  Many millions were given to another firm who filed many amicus briefs in the US v Trump SCOTUS case.  Carroll’s case was sketchy at best, plus only was allowed when the Left created the Adult Survivors Act to allow her to file a civil suit though the statute of limitations had long passed.  In addition, Carroll was a bad witness, remembering almost nothing with accuracy, nor did her witnesses recall what she supposedly told them.  The media called Trump an “accused rapist.”  What happened to innocent until proven guilty?  The jury, influenced by the media, found him guilty, thought they said that Carroll had NOT proven her allegations.

Power Has Corrupted, Absolutely

Putting Biden up as the candidate in 2020 was a carefully orchestrated shell game, as he was known to be more moderate than most, but the DNC knew they could use him as a puppet, while forcing through their most extreme plans to seize power. They seized a lot of power over elections in Blue states and want to do more through their HR 1, which fortunately, didn’t get approved.  The DNC knows they don’t have a winning message, so they want to tilt the scales even further to achieve a permanent place in the federal government.  For this, they should lose ballot access across the board. 

The Left has bankrupted us (to be fair, as a country, we have been spending more than we earn for a long time, but they doubled down on it.)  They have terrified us with climate alarmism, even as evidence keeps coming in that we were doing fine without the spending and that the spending won’t make any difference.  It’s all about power and control.  They own the education system.  They own the media.  And now, by bringing in welfare dependents from around the world, they hope to create a captive audience of voters they can control. 

Will Scharf, Trump’s attorney, has said, “As conservatives, we care about the Constitution and the rule of law, and we have to care about this perversion of our legal system that Joe Biden and his allies have inserted into the 2024 election.”  He could have said that they also did a lot to skew the 2020 election and only failed in 2016 because they didn’t see Trump as a threat.

A party that believes it is entitled to rule us in perpetuity does not deserve a place in our government, especially as poll after poll shows that the majority of people do not believe that what they want to do to us.  People are poorer and more unhappy with them in power.  Time to find some third parties to run against the Republicans and deny the Dems access to the “throne.”
