After 9/11, many Americans feared terrorism more than anything else, and yet, whether through prudent governance (somewhat doubtful) or that terrorists have focused on easier targets, we’ve largely been spared. Terrorism distinguishes itself from war because it involves non-state agents. But what if we are missing the truth by using this language?
What is Islam?
Beck makes the point that you need to understand that Islam is not simply a religion. The Koran, Haditha and other books call out an entire political system, as well as describing a faith. In this way, it is similar, but far more all-encompassing than the days where the Catholic Church had influence over kings. In fact, even in those days, people who professed no faith and those who were quiet in their non-Catholic faith were largely ignored.
Islam is different. Not only are Muslims required to follow every single law issued by these various books; they are also enjoined to treat non-Muslims (and former Muslims) very harshly. The political system does not work alongside any other form of governance. It must stand alone. As such, ***** despite the Counsel for American-Islamic Relation’s words and those of many Democrats, such as Obama and Clinton, it is not compatible with American laws.
You may have heard the Islam is the Arabic word for peace. How they’ve gotten away with this, given the ability to Google the term is beyond me. In reality, it means submission. And that submission is to all the words of Allah as transcribed by Mohammed and other leaders who followed.
Islam requires that all other religions and governments stand aside. Once they have taken over a country, you have only three options: convert, pay the jizya (tax) or die. This is not just the view of the terrorists—it’s stated in many places in the Koran.
Who Should We Fear?
While the terrorists make the biggest noise, the real problem comes when a group of Muslims take over a city or jurisdiction. These quiet invasions allow them to get their own people elected to government and empowers them to impose Shariah law wherever they can. Americans, relying on their fundamental belief in religious freedom, largely don’t oppose these movements, only realizing later the encroachment on their rights and values.
Places like London (now referred to as Londonistan by many), Dearborn, Murfreesboro and more, have been overtaken by large mosques and people drawn from everywhere. These islands of Islam have as their goal to begin the slow, silent control overtaking of our country in their pursuit of a Caliphate, a world order where Islam rules everything. Many suras in the Koran refer to the obligation of the people to support the Caliphate and ensure it can create a New World Order.
The Numbers
I’m sure all of us know some who practice the Muslim faith. We believe these are typical and not threatening. But we also didn’t know that as Muslims, they are encouraged and supported to lie about their beliefs to unbelievers. We don’t actually know them, do we?
Beck lays out the data showing that vast majorities of Muslims are all-in on the Koran and its goals. While you may never see them cheering a terrorist attack, many see these as vital steps towards a Muslim ruling class. If they succeed, your life will never be the same. Beck quotes liberally from the Koran and Haditha to bolster the argument that Islam is the problem, and we have more to fear from fervent believers than from terrorists.
In surveys around the world, a wide majority of Muslims support stoning for adultery, cutting off a hand for theft and other violent punishments for violating Sharia law. The numbers will shock you.
Solutions
Understand that just as there are Easter Sunday Christians and Jack Mormons, there are probably a lot of Jack Muslims in the country who have fled oppressive regimes and like our freedoms enough not to support those who would take them away. But that still leaves a lot of Muslims—those who were born into it and the many converts they have been able to achieve.
We have to understand and appreciate the magnitude of the problem and stop focusing on Al Qaeda and ISIS and look inside our own borders. We have to speak out and share what we have learned so more Americans can understand the threat. This means not allowing our government to dismiss what appears to be one-off terror attacks. Although not centrally planned, they all seek to achieve the same goals.
We have to reconnect with our traditions and values, understanding what Islam would forbid and punish. And though we can’t change Islam, we need to make it clear to citizen-practitioners that their laws will never be the laws of the country. Their rights, like all of our rights, extend to their noses and no further. We need to protect the young and keep them safe from genital mutilation and murder, invoking our laws to harshly punish those who commit these crimes. We can do better. We have to do better, or we risk losing everything that makes America exceptional.
A lot of forces, internal and external, looking to defeat this country. Unfortunately, our desire to be open and accepting/tolerant, maybe allowing licentiousness is a better description, makes the path that much easier.
