Like many, I’m very concerned about our election prospects. While Biden continues to fall in the polls, it isn’t clear that the Democrats will allow him to run. The results of a dramatic change like this—Newsom stepping in late in the cycle—could give the election to the Dems. There won’t be time for people to see how badly Newsom’s term in office has cost Californians. And for too many voters, his looks and gift of gab will propel him into office.
Once Upon a Time
The increasing amount of hard data on the Biden family corruption could result in a dream scenario for the Right. Consider what would happen if Biden is impeached and convicted. Kamala becomes President. A Biden election would be bad for the Dems, but a Harris election… in terms of popularity, she’s tied to a boat anchor on the floor of the sea.
Alternatively, he could be challenged for mental competence. The Dems don’t want to do this, but it’s increasingly obvious that he is too far gone to be in charge of the nuclear suitcase.
Biden could simply die. He seems to have had dementia long enough to be on the verge of death. In all three cases, Kamala is the candidate. And that’s good for us…and the country.
How do the Democrats get rid of her? She’s incompetent, but she’s young, vibrant and gets two ticks on the diversity scorecard. They can’t oust a Black woman, can they? They might wish to, but they can’t substitute a white man for a Black woman.
Imagine how great it would be for the House to stand up in support of Harris taking over for Biden; let’s “celebrate diversity.” I wonder if she would be open to challenging his competence to achieve her dream, short-lived though it may be.
Now, we have Trump v. Harris. Harris has a thin bench to look at for a VP. However, Trump has a deep bench. He should pick Nikki Haley. Why? Well, to attract independents and some moderate Dems, Haley ticks some boxes. Not only that, she has her own platform which may overlap but not completely match Trump’s. That extends the reach of the ticket.
Smart Republicans would realize that with only four years left for Trump, Haley could be positioned perfectly for her own run. She’s young, vibrant and popular.
Trump doesn’t need a sycophant as a running mate. Just as Kennedy picked Johnson, a man he did not admire, you pick the VP that pulls in more votes. Trump also has a long record in the business world of helping move people up when he sees talent. Right now, he’s competing with her, but together, they are a winning team.
But only if we can keep the Dems from replacing Biden on the ticket.
The Dems are desperate. If they run her late, they hope no one will take them on about all the expenses she incurred and how badly she did the job of First Lady. Her pluses are two points on the victim scale and that she is reasonably attractive. But when she opens her mouth, she often shoves both feet in.
Seems to be some traction for Michelle O. Would not surprise me at all and it would be for all the wrong reasons. At least Trump has a business history and can show accomplishments. Pray for America.
