Swarms of Illegals for You, But Not for Me

It turns out that the millions of illegal aliens teeming across our border are a “gift” (Biden’s words) and essential to our way of life…as long as they don’t go to where liberals like to live and vacation.  Texas, Arizona, and Florida can “handle” the demands of starving, sick, non-English-speaking people with limited skills, but they need to stay in Red states, paid for by the hard-working taxpayers in those areas. Can you spell hypocrite?

A State of Emergency

Chicago and Washington DC have declared a state of emergency after a relatively small shipment of illegals have been sent to provide their “gifts” to these places.  These two places have a serious crime problem, which Illinois is doubling down on by eliminating cash bail, even in cases of rape and murder.  A few extra law-breakers shouldn’t be a problem:  but it is for these privileged people. 

I’ve enjoyed seeing people challenge the Obamas to build a camp for these sorry folk on their 30 acres of land in Martha’s Vineyard.  The rich encourage illegal immigration so they can have cheap child care, maid service and other work provided at low cost, while doing little to offer support to those who cannot (or are unwilling) to serve them.  They would also prefer not to see them or be affected by the many who resort to crime to survive.

If it isn’t an emergency in the border states where people find their ranches damaged, their kinfolk attacked and their lives impacted, why is it an emergency when a few of these people show up in Blue states?  The answer is that the whole thing is an emergency, but one created by the exact people who refuse to deal with it personally.

Borders Matter.  So Do Incentives.

If you decide to move to Mexico without permission, there will be no welcome mat rolled out.  You won’t get transportation to where you want to go, you won’t get food and shelter and you will be required to have a health screening.  That’s how it should be.  Every country should be permitted to decide who comes in and who gets to stay.  By passing laws, (just like the ones we have on the books), to deter illegal immigration, you simply get less of it.

But the Left is using billions of our tax dollars to attract and reward law-breakers.  When we apply our immigration laws, we mostly attract lawful immigrants.  Those few who cross illegally know they will have to support themselves, but rarely are they prepared to work hard to do it.  Yes, we also get gang members and other thugs, but in the past, deportation was a matter of course.  We did not tolerate criminals that are not US citizens.

But people are smart.  They read the incentives or disincentives and make decisions based on that.  It’s simply too attractive to come here, drop a kid or two, get benefits based on that new citizen and never have another concern.  We don’t treat our own citizens who fall on hard times as well as we are now treating illegals.  I don’t blame them for coming—they have an engraved invitation from the Left.  But that doesn’t serve our country.  We can’t afford this invasion.

I believe that Red states should continue to export their illegals to Blue states/cities, as well as refusing them any local help whatsoever.  No health care, no food or water, no shelter, no transportation, except to return them back over the border.  I remember having to take Covid tests to return to the US, as well as proving I was vaccinated, but illegals bypass any kind of health check.

As long as the incentives to come are in place, we can’t stop this flow.  It’s time we do what every other country does; choose the people we want to become Americans.  And then, expect them to become Americans.  We are a country and should have pride in our traditions and culture. Celebrate your family traditions, but embrace this country.  Or get out. 

Time to close the border except to those applying legally; those we want to admit.  We need to remove the incentives which attract illegal immigration, beginning with birth-right citizenship. No government aid of any kind should be available.  We should impose severe fines for anyone providing employment, housing, health care (with the exception of emergency care), education, licensing or any other incentives that facilitate remaining in the US.  We wouldn’t have to deport anyone; these policies would lead to massive self-deportation.  Americans should pick who becomes part of our country.  Right now, the Left refuses to honor our Constitution, laws and traditions.
