The Facts Two Years Later
The world jumped on the shutdown bandwagon once the CCP virus invaded us, which initially seemed reasonable, as we had no idea how deadly the virus would be. Also, though the idea of this virus spontaneously erupting in a wet market around December, 2019 is constantly being broadcast, the reaction (shutdowns, panic, masking, distancing) makes sense only if you believe it was lab-created and thus, more of a weapon than a normal disease.
Two weeks extended to two years and counting. Relief from mandates is only coming in America as we move into an election year where the Democrats fear losing Congress and other key positions. This fear is valid as the “accomplishments” of Biden’s first year are hard to find.
Fact 1: Death rate has been exaggerated, mostly because hospitals were better compensated for Covid deaths. Thus, no matter what brought you into the hospital, even if there was no possible relationship, if you tested positive for Covid, it was a Covid death. Even the CDC is beginning to admit this.
Fact 2: Just like the flu, older people and those with co-morbidities are more likely to die if infected. These are people that, in many cases, might have died that year anyway. We don’t treat the flu this way. Time to just call it endemic and be done with it.
Fact 3: The original PCR tests had a high rate of false positives, leading to overstatement of infection rates.
Fact 4: There is no evidence that the shutdowns (or really any of the measures imposed on us) made all that much difference.
Fact 5: Vaccines have been harming people, especially the young. And on more recent variants, don’t seem to protect people. This means that while you can self-isolate (a good idea if you are elderly or infirm), the rest of us are likely to get it. There’s no point in shutting down anything when these facts are considered.
Fact 5: Ventilators seemed to increase the rate of death. A number of doctors say that the symptoms were more consistent with altitude sickness than low oxygen in the blood. Mechanical ventilation can easily damage the lungs. Nasal cannulas would probably have done better, and have done so where used.
Fact 6: Cheap, effective treatments are being used, covertly, by many, resulting in good outcomes from the disease. Remdesivir, much more expensive, has far poorer outcomes. But once you’re in the hospital, you and your doctor have limited options.
Fact 7: Children have been harmed by shutdowns, especially those from low-income families. Online school simply doesn’t work for everyone, and was a far cry from the quality kids experienced just the year before this all came down.
Fact 8: Our economy has been badly damaged by these lockdowns, while,
as the data shows, there was no medical benefit to them.
Sweden
Sweden did incur significant deaths early on, and probably should have closed down for a short time while gaining an understanding of the situation. On February 25, this report was issued. “Sweden made the right decision not to impose a lockdown early on in the COVID pandemic, but should have introduced more measures earlier, a government-appointed commission said on Friday.” They opted for more voluntary measures, and when they did impose mandates, they were set up with an eye to the economic, mental and spiritual health of their citizens, not just the medical health.
Economically, Sweden is out in the lead of European countries and with voluntary actions being well-supported, people could make individualized choices regarding their health, which led to better outcomes. In most cases, Florida did the same thing. Their school children are far better off because of this.
Ironically, we’ve seen pictures of famous people enjoying crowded parties and beaches in Florida for the past two years, while insisting that the rest of us quarantine. Panic needs to end. England is now fully re-opened and many countries are following that lead.
And the vaccine mandate needs to go. If it really kept people from getting sick (or passing the virus along), there might have been some justification. But as it does neither, it’s time to end the mandate, stop stigmatizing those who don’t wish to take it and stop testing people to death. It’s now mostly like the flu and should be treated as such.
And sadly if for some reason it re-emerges or another virus should come along I have no doubt we’d go through the same process all over again. Drat!
