The EU
The grandiose plan that fostered the European Union sounded great to many, but with benefit of time, you can see all the problems. Take away a lot of power from wealthy countries and situate it in Belgium where unelected bureaucrats make all the decisions and can’t be voted out. Insist that rich countries support poorer ones, even when the poverty has to do with government choices that are financially unsustainable. Open the borders so much so that even people outside the Union can come in, demanding not only support, but that countries change to adapt to the immigrant’s desires (Londonistan, etc).
The Europeans adopted a single currency, which, for many countries, caused the value of their salaries to go down, while costs remained high. I talked to Europeans and never met anyone who felt the Euro had been a good thing for them personally. Brexit showed that at least one country was willing to break away and re-establish itself as an independent, but cooperative nation. I found it odd that the rules require some huge payment if you leave, but how do they actually enforce it? I’d just walk away.
The Americas
You probably hadn’t heard about this prior to the election, because D’s want to stay in power, but Biden really wants to get the NAU going. He has his stooge, Anthony Blinken, talking to people about it. Our border is open—to get people used to the idea of a single entity controlling all North Americans. It also trains a new group of people to expect free health care, housing, food and transportation as soon as they arrive. How many will decide to work instead?
Mexico is in thrall to the cartel-government system, where it is hard to tell who benefits from drug deals and who cares about people. Since Biden’s election, the border has been effectively open and easy to navigate for the cartels. In association with China, we now have a fentanyl epidemic. It will only get worse. Kids who decide not to cope with teenage angst with a sex- change may instead opt for a wide variety of easily accessible drugs. This is not an acceptable alternative and perhaps even more costly in terms of mental and physical health than a sex change.
The Mexican government is behind the NAU, big time, and it’s not a surprise. They only stand to gain economically as Greece and other poor European countries benefitted from the EU. But the US does not benefit in any way.
Canada isn’t much better. Though most immigrants from Canada appear to be those who wish to work in a freer environment, the real risk here is adopting the socialism that is awash with Justin (Castro) Trudeau. Watch what you say—in the USA now, you may get cancelled or scolded. In Canada you can be put in prison. It’s also a short step to going to nationalized care which doesn’t work all that well for Canadians. Many die each year because the first appointment to assess them for cancer or heart disease comes too late to matter. I remember reading about people who were pretending to be their pets to get MRI appointments at veterinary hospitals. Vets are still capitalists, so they recover costs for their pricey equipment from willing customers. But you can’t get an MRI when you need one in most provinces. If you think it is really wonderful, first read books by Sally Pipes, PRI, who lived under that regime, but moved here. Amazon.com: Sally Pipes: Books, Biography, Blog, Audiobooks, Kindle
The Best Country
Given the rate of immigration to our country (and the low rate of emigration), people are voting with their feet to join us in our economic (capitalist) success. The system works. The Constitution works. Why mess with it?
We need to make sure people are aware of this, as it is starting to happen covertly. You have to wonder why people would mess with a success. What good ideas are Canada and Mexico bringing? And who would make up the unelected council changing our laws? I’m sure the American Democrats think it will be them, but what if it isn’t? Or what if they really want to destroy America instead of continuing to evolve and improve it.
