Why We Need This
Two years and counting, most of us are done with all mention of Covid, mandates and restrictions. But just like a surgeon leaving the OR after 12 hours of fighting to save someone’s life, the job isn’t done until there is a post-mortem. A post-mortem allows dispassionate discourse on all the factors involved in an incident so that all parties can learn from the experience and create better ways to deal with a similar situation. We need to look at all aspects of this incident in order to ensure that the many mistakes made will never be repeated. After all, I think most of us know that another pandemic could occur, as long as China maintains their lab secrecy.
Who Should Run it?
The first people to exclude are those responsible for the decisions made, such as Collins, Fauci, Biden and Birx. Instead, we should look at the politicians and medical professionals who challenged the “authorities” and worked hard to offer all possible options for people, while protecting the vulnerable. In fact, it’s easy to name names here. Rand Paul could lead the effort and I would add such people as Scott Atlas and Jay Bhattacharya, respected doctors. We could easily add international names from the Great Barrington Declaration, people who had better answers than those promoted by our government and politically motivated scientists.
What Should Be Covered?
Origin: The origin story is critical. The desperate attempt of the media to claim proof that the wet market in Wuhan was the source, even after much data has shown that it was not, tells us we have to do the work. If, as I suspected early on in 2020, the virus was lab-generated as part of the gain of function research at the Wuhan Virology Lab AND that the CCP refused to let this information out in time to stop the virus from spreading internationally, that’s a critical part of preventing a recurrence. We can’t trust WHO to do anything about this. China runs WHO with ample help from two untrustworthy sorts – Fauci and Bill Gates. Again, we need independent scientists to research this, and from what many have already said, the mutations don’t really look like they were spontaneous. To ensure future safety, we may have to impose sanctions on the CCP and at the very least, ensure that no other government provide any funding, personnel or support to their labs.
Testing and the Role of Government Agencies: The CDC claimed all rights to create test kits resulting in ridiculous delays. Data reported by the CDC has gone through many corrections, most of which reduced the case and death count. It is obvious that there is a political agenda here and this agency has no respect for actual science. Their many failures should open up an investigation into the need for this agency to exist. We also should look harder at Rand Paul’s proposal to split Fauci’s agency into three parts, dividing the responsibility and power. At the same time, Fauci’s role in the origin of the virus and his irresponsible actions which probably led to additional deaths, should be investigated. In fact, looking at his “storied” career, it might be worth looking farther back to see if his judgment calls led to other deaths.
The Government’s Role
Mandate this, mandate that. Across the globe, governments enjoyed unlimited power to control their people. They continue to claim “emergency” even as it isn’t clear that this is any worse than a bad flu year. It’s clear that they will resist giving up this power until we demand it. At the same time, it’s a great opportunity to shrink the federal government (to start), as their many failures should have shown us how little most of the government is worth. We pay for it; we deserve more. One example was the doubling in time to get a passport, even as every agent was still being paid. Why the slowdown? The government needs to have its hands tied and its wallet examined. If they shut down so much, why didn’t more government workers lose their jobs, like so many good people in the private sector?
The Science
We were told to “follow the science” as dictated by Fauci and the CDC, but as more data came in regarding masking, shutdowns and vaccines, the “science” didn’t change appreciably. And one part of science that was obliterated during these years was the right of doctors to prescribe whatever they felt necessary to their patients. Rather than costly remdesivir (which lined many people’s pockets), many wanted to try other options first, especially in patients whose Covid hadn’t become critical. The “science” dictated many days on ventilators, which caused permanent damage to many (and rarely saved anyone). Doctors who tried to defy these orders were fired. And now, the “science” says that all the medical professionals who risked their lives prior to the vaccine should be fired for refusing the vaccine.
Recirculated air that is processed intensely is safer than being outside, yet we still have to wear masks on a plane. The six-foot rule—no one actually knows where that came from, but I know when I sneeze, it can often go farther, unless I block it with my hand. The guidance on washing packages and being afraid to touch anything had to come from one place (as it makes no sense otherwise)—the knowledge that this was an engineered virus which might have been made as a weapon.
It's time to decide how science should be decided, by fiat or by hardcore research, debate and proof on the part of scientists. Real scientists know a few things about science. Today’s discoveries can be overturned tomorrow. It’s no stain on their reputation. The stains come from cheating or from refusing to acknowledge the evidence others present.
We need to rethink everything in the wake of this global disaster (the response to the virus). Otherwise, we may never be able to free ourselves from the dictatorship of virus fear.
I think an open and honest MSM would have aided your points immensely. Alas, we know what the likelihood of that is.
