I love the Olympics and have watched every televised Game since I was very small. My father would wake me up to see the Opening Ceremonies, back when they were only available live, and thus, at weird times. There’s nothing better than watching people with amazing abilities and talents strive to outdo their personal bests. It’s inspiring. And yet, I will not be watching the Olympics in February.
Make a Stand for Human Rights
Unless you have been living in a Faraday cage, you know about the internment, organ harvesting and torture inflicted on the Uyghurs and practitioners of Falun Gong. Those human rights violations have been proven, but that’s not all the CCP is guilty of. They also persecute and control every citizen, unless he/she is part of the protected CCP party gang. They started the pandemic and lied about it until the entire world was impacted. The list goes on; there is no freedom in CCP China. And yet, the IOC still awarded them the prestigious honor of hosting the Games twice in a short amount of time.
People who defy the ridiculous edicts of the CCP lose everything and in many cases, disappear. Many of us feel that there is little we can do; how can we stand up to a villainous government? But we can take a stand and refuse to let them trumpet the numbers who watch. If you’re a parent or close friend of an Olympian, I understand your need to watch. But for the rest of us, let’s skip the Games this one time and send a message.
Damage to Supporters of the CCP
We’ve all read about the kowtowing of groups like the NBA to the Communist powers. Companies do it too. They alter their products to suit the leaders, often to the detriment of the consumers. Many are advertising during the Games and they expect to get a lot of eyeballs on their ads. Take that away from them. Give them the same kind of lousy numbers as the politically correct Academy Awards, now a political shout-fest.
The number of viewers is always broadcast; a strong showing of disinterest will send a message to China. We can also try to avoid Chinese products, as much as possible. Economic activity is the only way most of us can show our support for the persecuted in China.
Write your congressmen. Tell them how you feel. The Bidens managed to cover up the disgraceful activities of Hunter in China, and how Joe benefitted. A public protest will help to show people like these that this is not behavior that should be rewarded.
China has huge ambitions, not only to take over every possible Asian island, but to change the reserve currency to the yuan. Ideally, it would be great for every country to start marginalizing them, but we can at least make a start. Pride is critically important to the CCP, which is why the Olympics is designed to give them glory. Let’s embarrass them. I’m sure we all have better things to do with our time.

And now we’re so dependent on them for our manufactured goods we have to be careful we don’t damage ourselves further. And I would agree there needs to be a reckoning about HB and father’s apparent Chinese connection.
