We’ve all seen the result of the Biden/Harris immigration policy, which had nothing to do with legal immigration, but everything to do with opening our border to anyone, especially those who don’t speak English and have no skills. While pretending to seem humane, it was clear that they only cared about getting voters, even as voting by illegals is, itself, illegal. The CHNV parole program (Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans) sounds nice, on the surface. But the result has enriched traffickers, exploited the vulnerable, especially children, while flooding us with people who speak no English and have no skills. It’s hard to find a program so screwed up!
It's on par with all their immigration policies. While companies are begging for skilled workers from the construction industry to tech and science firms, our government is ignoring the welfare of our country to bring in people that will continue to be a drain on the economy. Even those who work are taking jobs from citizens. And the cost has drained off much of the FEMA money and other resources meant to benefit ONLY citizens.
What Do Voters Say?
Newsweek has just released the results of a poll that shows that even most of the Harris voters support Trump’s immigration and border security plan. Fifty-three percent of Harris voters want a tougher approach to illegal immigration (as well as 87% of Trump supporters). Gaining traction from a June poll, now 68% of all voters want us to stop being so lax with illegals and 63% say our government has lost control of the border. Surprisingly, in a country that generally supports legal immigration, 55% overall want to see lower numbers even from legal immigrants, a stark change in views. It is likely that that change is the result of the people flood that many towns are struggling with, not able to support all those who need it. Citizens are supposed to come first. Only 16% polled want more immigration.
Unsurprisingly, the latest word from Harris is a promise to get tough on illegal border crossings, go after drug cartels and punish traffickers. Really? Haven’t we heard her say this to groups who are unhappy with the current policy? She’s had nearly four years to fix the border; why should anyone believe her words now? Speaking on CNN, she implied she might support a border wall after calling Trump’s border security policy a “medieval vanity project.”
Just like taxing tips, Harris can pivot on a dime when she needs to. But do you believe her? It’s so easy to say something, but unlike Trump, she has no proof that she wants to solve the problem. Just a short time ago, she was trying to get the vote for illegals.
In reality, nothing has changed. Biden/Harris pushed a border bill they claimed was bipartisan in February of this year; it died in committee as people saw it as a mass amnesty scheme which would cost us $22BB for illegals alone. The larger portion, which we can’t afford, was for foreign aid. No one should be rewarded with citizenship for illegally crossing the border when so many we really value can’t gain entry legally.
For Harris, “border security” means money to process illegal aliens and release them to communities that don’t want them. After all, we saw what happened when just a few were sent to Martha’s Vineyard, a place that could easily afford to support all those beggars. No, they are sent to towns that can’t even keep the homeless population down. Keep in mind, Harris has said she wants to revive and pass this bill. That’s the truth of the matter.
Harris will lie and deceive to get elected. Just like those of us who support Trump are judging him on past performance, we need to judge Harris on what she actually did, not what she pretends now. Someone who can’t even get through a friendly 60 Minute interview has no business in the White House. Send her back to California where even there, she may no longer feel welcome.
I keep hearing from open border proponents that the immigration system is broken. Yes, the process takes a long time. It took my mother 5 years in the 1940’s. Is that what’s broken? What specifically are they talking about? And, I don’t think that’s a viable excuse for coming here illegally even if it is. I think the speed limit where I live is too low. Ok if I drive at the speed I think it should be? The irony is that both sides know exactly what’s going on as you noted. If the immigrants were wearing red baseball caps there’d be double walls, barb wire, and crocodiles in the Rio Grande. Unfortunately, the damage is done. The flood of immigrants will continue under democrat leadership and deportation is just not going to happen…at least not enough to make an impact. Maybe republicans should look at a strategy that will turn the tables and win over the people that are already here. Is that even possible?
