WHO’S THE FASCIST?
Hint: It’s Not You or Me
Biden’s most recent speech was uncharacteristic on many levels. Empty of solutions, it was a diatribe reminiscent of Hitler’s “Jewish problem” talks. By calling most of America fascist (possibly terrorist), he angered and possibly terrified many people. This is not the way our government should act. Yes, he’s a puppet, his strings pulled by the most extreme Lefties, but being a “useful idiot” is no excuse. It appears that no one really understands fascism, especially Antifa, and that they don’t realize that this was a Mussolini program. Hitler doubled down on national socialism, which was somewhat different.
Definition
You have to start with the definition of fascism to really understand it. Here’s Merriam-Webster’s definition:” a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.”
Some sites do claim it is right-wing, but in many ways, that makes no sense. Any party or “side” can be totalitarian.
How Well Does This Map to the Left?
Picking this definition apart, we see that the idea of racial neutrality—treating everyone equally (not with equity goals and not by singling out any race/group)—is the opposite of what we see now. Race/victimhood is a key factor in nearly every domestic policy. We all know that grouping people by race, religion, sex or other characteristic is wrong, because we are all individuals. Most groups understand this, but when the government makes it appealing to lead with your victim status, a lot of people will go along with it. That doesn’t make it right.
Autocratic government During my lifetime, the power of the Executive branch has been increasing rapidly. Different from communism, fascism doesn’t seek to nationalize businesses, only to control them. Remember how Obama imposed rules on auto companies who needed bailouts, negating the rights of shareholders to benefit union employees. This is what an autocratic, fascist government does. Obamacare is another example. Since its implementation, people no longer have a wide range of choices in health insurance; the government is telling you what you must have in your policy, even if you don’t want or need it.
Announcing college debt forgiveness is another example of an autocratic government. You do not have the right to forgive one man’s debt by insisting that another (who either never incurred the debt or paid off their own debt) pay it for them. If Biden wants to dip into his pocket and pay off some debts, let him. But government should not be operating this way. The ridiculous policies on loan programs caused universities to drastically grow their administrations and costs, causing the debt crisis. This is not a fix.
Most of what happened during the CCP virus years was autocratic. Offer help, recommend best practices but don’t tell people what to do. Now, in California, the governor is trying to push a bill that will make it illegal for a doctor to tell you how you can treat and avoid Covid if it does not comply with CDC mandates. Is that what any of us want?
The response to January 6th is another example of autocratic rule. After the death, maiming and destruction of BLM, riots went essentially unchallenged, a bunch of angry people seeking to have the government look into the blatant voter fraud now finds themselves incarcerated without a trial. Many are experiencing forms of torture. Their rights are being ignored. And given that video shows that the government opened the doors of Congress AND that many of the violent acts were government employees attacking protestors, this is way too reminiscent of Hitler’s Brown Shirts to me.
Most recently, Biden’s speech basically outlined the plans of a dictator. He wants to control how you spend money (must buy an electric car), what you can eat and choose to do, what you can talk about and ultimately, what you are allowed to believe. Otherwise, you are a terrorist. These are dangerous times. We cannot allow anyone to have this kind of power. And someone needs to tell Antifa that they are misnamed; they are the real fascists and terrorists along with BLM.
Remember: we’re the good guys. We’re happy to live and let live. People can have differing opinions and choices in their lives. But as the Libertarian Party says, “don’t hurt people and don’t take their stuff.” If we agree to let the Fascists continue to run things, we will be heading to a social order that looks a lot like China.
