There is a common assumption that everyone has all the rights and privileges of a citizen, but it isn’t true. Citizenship is supposed to have value; it doesn’t if non-citizens in the US has the same rights.
The Mahmoud Khalil Story
The US was kind enough to grant Mahmoud Khalil a green card that allows him permanent residence and the opportunity to attend one of our premiere colleges, Columbia University. Aside from his studies, he is known as an agitator in New York, guilty of harassing Jews. Khalil wants Israel to be destroyed, loves Hamas and actually desires “the eradication of Western Civilization,” something he is currently taking great advantage of.
As an American citizen, we would have to tolerate his behavior, as long as he doesn’t break laws, which he may have during protests. But as a green card holder, the rules are different; you do not have all the rights of a citizen. If you support terror, you can be ousted by law. The law is 8 USC 1227(a)(4)(B) which says, a green card can be revoked if you “endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization.” No doubt about it—Khalil can’t pretend he hasn’t done that. Thus, the Trump administration has revoked his green card, which was a privilege granted to him. It’s not a right.
Why The Challenge?
For too long, our sovereignty as a nation has been undermined. Open borders, ignoring domestic terrorism initiated as Black Lives Matter and Antifa, letting people tear down statues and destroy property, ignoring massive shoplifting, etc., has caused too many to believe that the laws of this country do not matter. Trump disagrees and intends to enforce the law. If you aren’t a citizen and fall under that statute, expect severe consequences.
It isn’t surprising that Khalil assumed he could do what he wants. For too long, our governments and the leaders of universities have ignored the violent antisemitism on the Left and allowed students to persecute fellow classmates, even as these same administrators would have gone ballistic should a White student do the same to a Black or Hispanic student. But the standard of behavior is higher for a person with permanent residence (or if they are illegal). It’s sort of like being on probation.
But why should anyone want his status protected? These people, sadly, are much like Khalil in wanting to bring down the Constitution and the way America works in order to effect a new order. Most of what they claim to want has been tried elsewhere…and it failed, miserably. But that doesn’t matter to them. They have no knowledge of how America became so prosperous and how they were able to enjoy the privilege of living here. They actually believe that radical change will improve their lives. And they are simply wrong. They protest to protect Khalil, the idiot, because they are “useful idiots” themselves, as Karl Marx would have dubbed them.
Most educators now are allied with the hard Left and teach to that. It explains why so few students are literate and capable of doing math, since education now is really indoctrination. That expensive degree is actually worthless if you have learned nothing worthwhile. Part of an education today is to learn to hate America, critique our values and attempt to undermine our culture in any way possible. And teachers do this from their place of privilege.
Restore the Value of Citizenship
The US needs to quickly restore the value of citizenship, cracking down hard on those who are here with our consent—green card holders—and those who violated our laws—illegals. Neither have the rights guaranteed under the Constitution. Deportation is the logical and legal answer to the problem and Trump will likely win, despite organized protests. And after all, having watched all the protests in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, most people just ignore the people waving signs and shouting at them.
This is a great country. Many people around the world want to come here to live. We should pick those we want and deport those who cause problems to our citizens. And as we have been more careful to protect Blacks, Hispanics and LGBTQABCEFH people, let’s not forget to protect Jews. They too should be able to enjoy their college experience and be safe while traversing the country.
Remember: radical Islam is a political system carefully wrapped in a keffiyeh of religion. People who espouse Islam and the Caliphate actually want radical change in the system, not just in faith. They and their beliefs have no place in our country.
I don’t understand this notion that illegals are afforded all the rights of citizens. They espouse due process before deporting them but to what extent? I’m beginning to feel that an illegal actually has greater rights than citizens. It’s a fine line but do we allow the judicial system to decide policy and give it the power to override anything done by the other two bodies?
